Minutes of the extra-meeting of the Councils of Blessed Gérard and the Brotherhood of Blessed Gérard held on the 18th September 2008 Present: Frs Gérard, Gamede, Dr PZT Thabethe, Mrs NM Thabthe and Miss Susanne Stauffer. Since this was an extra-ordinary meeting of councils, no minutes were read, hence no matters arising. Business of the Day Policy on Limits for financial authorization The meeting began by examining current policy and practice on limits for financial authorization shall apply and adjusted as tabulated below. Salary for the Personal Assistant (PA) to the President The meeting examined the salary package of the previous PA and resolved that the new PA, assuming her duties in January 2009, shall receive between R13,000.00 and R14,000.00 Yellow braids for heads of Departments. It was resolved that the Heads of Departments (HOD) shall wear yellow braids on their epaulettes. These were: Mr Victor Himunchul (BGCH), PRN Thandi Bhengu (Residential Care) PRN Mirriam Makhoba (Home Care) PRN Hlaleleni Biyela (Tutor), PRN Thandanani Simelane (HAART) Miss Patricia Zikhali (BGPPS&C Teacher), Miss Sindi Ndlovu (Catering), Mr Fred Norris (Maintanance), Mr Thamsanqa Gumede (Financial Officer), Mrs Cynthia MacQue (PA). Mesdames H Dube (social worker) and B Mgenge (Cleaning) shall receive their braids after completing their respective courses. Human Resource The meeting considered the applications of two professional Registered Nurses (PRN), namely Mr Sifiso Ngcobo and Ntombifuthi Gumede and resolved to offer them employment at a salary rate of R12,000.00. Auxiliary Nurses Sibongile Mchunu and Gugu Shandu shall each receive a salary of R3,500.00 President’s Council The meeting resolved that the an advisory body of experts known as the President’s Council be resuscitated and the following experts be invited to constituted this body: Ms Lientjie Yeo (lawyer), Messrs Erich Winkler (business men), Kevin Horton (Finance), Zach Mathonsi (Human Resources) and Stewart Gillbanks (pharmacology) Board of Auditors It was resolved that the following shall be invited by the President to the constitute the Board of Auditors, Rt Rev Bishop XT Kumalo (Bishop of Eshowe), Rt Rev Abbot Godfrey (Abbot of Inkamana) and Rev Sr Gregoria Lutter (the Regional Superior of the Servant of the Holy Child Jesus) The meeting closed with a prayer.
